How does your DNS Failover service work?

Hosted DNS

Our DNS Failover service can work two different ways. The first option is to monitor your primary server. If it goes offline, the DNS Failover will automatically switch the A record to point to your backup server(s). You can have as many backup servers as you want. It will monitor them all to know which are available and will always publish the first working server.

The second method is the round robin distributed solution. Our system will create A records for all of the servers that are available. Should it detect that one of them goes offline, it will simply delete the A record for that server and continue directing traffic to the remaining servers.

DID YOU KNOW? We also offer a Cloud Load Balancing solution that does failover much better, and without the TTL issues. Contact or call 800-619-8801 for more information!
